The Impact of Emergency Funding

Kansas City, MO, November 2, 2018 – “Funding from the Carrie J. Loose Foundation has been critical in Rose Brooks Center’s ability to meet the emergency needs of victims of domestic violence and their families.” Angela, Director of Residential Services at Rose Brooks Center, speaks about the importance of emergency funding through those like the Carrie J. Loose Foundation. Some additional highlights of how the funding has helped

• Rose Brooks purchased gas cards, which allowed us to secure transportation for things like getting to job interviews, relocation, housing appointments, medical appointments, etc.

• Several clients were assisted with certifications needed to secure employment. All individuals are currently

• One client was able to make some home repairs and security adjustments to her home after their abuser had damaged property. The emergency assistance funding allowed her to move back to her home after safety planning and an Order of Protection by Rose Brooks.

“We are so extremely grateful for these funds and the freedom they provide us to meet some of those not so common needs that come up in the course of our work with survivors. A HUGE thank you to the Carrie J. Loose Foundation for allowing us the opportunity to bring hope and joy in a difficult time of client’s lives.” – Angela.
