World’s Window in Brookside is celebrating 37 years of “bringing the world to Kansas City.” They would love to celebrate with a clothing drive, a crazy party, hugs all around, drinks & food. But not yet. Baby steps! We’re all just now safely STEPPING OUT.

Help celebrate their 37th anniversary by STEPPING UP & STEPPING OUT to help the women and children and their pets at Rose Brooks. A current need for adults & children in shelter is TENNIS SHOES and new tennis shoes are being collected at World’s Window. For more information, check out https://worldswindowkc.store/

STEP UP for Rose Brooks here with a donation and, if you check the “opt in” box, World’s Window will e-mail you a 20% off THANK YOU coupon good instore and online for the 3 days of their safe shopping celebration Thursday through Saturday, April 29 – May 1, 2021.

To honor our 37 years, we’ve provided some things that $37 would provide the families of Rose Brooks Center:

  • 1 pair of woman’s tennis shoes
  • 1 pair of child’s tennis shoes plus a pack of underwear
  • nutritious meals for a mom or child for one week
  • cost of boarding an animal for one night in their on-site pet shelter
  • dog leash and harness
  • twin-sized blanket
  • natural/textured hair care products
  • 94 count box of pullups

In Memory of Erin

Erin’s family has requested a memorial fund in honor of their daughter and friend.
Rose Brooks Center, standing alongside Erin’s family and friends, offer this as a way to support the work she dedicated herself to as a therapist and shelter advocate. As others have said, Erin was a gift and wanted you to be a better person. Her work at Rose Brooks was a living example of her spirit and love for others. May we all honor Erin’s memory on behalf of those she served and helped heal from domestic violence.

Thank you for supporting the mission of Rose Brooks Center. This fund celebrates the life of Jen, both as a loving mother and supporter of Rose Brooks Center’s mission. For many years, Jen and Erik would sponsor a Mother’s Day event at Rose Brooks, donating gifts for all moms in emergency shelter and funds in support of Rose Brooks’ life-changing work.

It is our goal, that by your gifts, you will ensure a legacy of hope for moms and their children who seek a safe and happy future.

When you support the Jen Chen Mother’s Day Memorial Fund, you become a part of the life-changing impact she and Erik created by their kindness, while honoring Jen as a mother, a friend, and extraordinary woman with an extraordinary heart.

Run For a Cause

“DomesticHi, my name is Evan Schrock and I will be running my first marathon right here in Kansas City on October 21st, 2017. I am honored to be running for Rose Brooks Center and am asking you to please sponsor this run for a cause. My beautiful daughters Hayley and Sarah are my inspiration to run for Rose Brooks. My vision for their future is to live in a world where domestic violence is never tolerated. Real change starts right now with us!

I am asking for sponsors to pledge one mile of support at $100 per mile, so that together we can raise $2,620 for this organization and the local families and pets they serve. If you can, please consider sponsoring a quarter, half or even a full mile. Thank you so much!

Design for a Difference

DomesticDesign for a Difference is The International Design Guild’s first-ever community-driven designer movement that brings our socially conscious showrooms together with interior designers and other businesses to makeover needed spaces at local charities.

Our goal of raising $150,000 will provide four fully remodeled, cozy, and healing common living room for the women and children living at Rose Brooks Center.

Domestic

Lisa Schmitz Interior Design has teamed up with Design for a Difference and Rose Brooks Center, a domestic violence shelter in Kansas City to remodel the common living spaces. People are deeply affected by their environments. After touring Rose Brooks Center, meeting the women, children, and even pets escaping violence, we knew this was a story we wanted to help write! We wish to design spaces of healing and peace for the women and children escaping violent situation. The newly remodeled common areas will serve as a welcome place to nurture and foster ambitions.
